Obituary for Marc E Karrmann

Marc E. Karrmann, 80, of Dubuque died Wednesday, April 12, 2017 at Ennoble Manor. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 pm Monday at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road. Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Peter Lutheran Church where there will also be a visitation Tuesday from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Platteville.
Marc was born November 13, 1936 in Platteville, Wisc., son of Elton and Blanche (Johnsen) Karrmann. He graduated from Shattuck High School in Faribault, MN and received his bachelor’s degree from University of Wisconsin-Platteville.
On April 9, 1960, he married Sharon Grunewald at St. John Lutheran Church, Prairie du Sac, WI. They lived in Port Huron, Mich. for several years, before moving to Dubuque in 1976.
Marc worked at KDTH as a broadcast engineer for 23 years before his retirement. He was an active member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and Kiwanis International.
He was an avid hockey fan and was a Dubuque Fighting Saints season ticket holder. He enjoyed camping, traveling and loved taking his grandchildren to Disney World. He and Sharon visited all 50 states, 46 of them in their RV.
Marc is survived by his wife, Sharon Karrmann of Dubuque; four children, Jim (Nancy) Karrmann of Madison, Cheryl (Duane) Beckman of West Burlington, John (JoDee) Karrmann of West Des Moines, Iowa and Marc W. Karrmann of Cannon Falls, MN; 10 grandchildren, Sarah (Jeff), Ashley, Derek (Lis), Blake, Andrew (Jordyn), Megan, Kayla (Chris), Allison, Jessica and Natalie; and three great grandchildren.
He is also survived by a brother, Phil (Barbara) Karrmann of Platteville; sister-in-law, Kay Bailey of Sun Prairie, WI, brothers-in-law, Dan (Patricia) Grunewald of Prairie du Sac, WI and Bill (Kim Diehl) Grunewald of Sauk City, WI; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and father and mother-in-law.
