Michael T Donlin

Michael T. Donlin, 75, of 2361 Gordon Dr. died Saturday, October 30, 2010 at the Dubuque Nursing and Rehab Center. Funeral services will be 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the Church of the Nativity. Entombment will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery Mausoleum. Visitation will be from 3 to 7 pm Wednesday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Cremation Service, 2659 Kennedy Road.
Michael was born April 12, 1935 in Madison, Wisconsin, son of Dr. William and Dorothy (Brady) Donlin. He grew up in Belleville, Wisconsin and attended Loras College.
He married Amelia “Josie” Sunseri on December 31, 1955 in Dubuque, Iowa. She preceded him in death on November 16, 1999.
Michael worked as a chemical engineer for John Deere. He enjoyed woodworking, fishing, and hunting. He was an avid model railroader, a beekeeper, master gardener, and baseball umpire and football referee for the city of Dubuque. He was a member of the Church of the Nativity.
Michael is survived by two daughters, Michele (Michael) Lewis of Urbandale, Iowa and Ellen (Steve) Neese, Sr., of Dubuque; a son, Michael Thomas “Tom” Donlin, Jr., of Waukee, Iowa; six grandchildren, Tony Lewis, Nicholas Lewis, Steve (DeeAnna) Neese, Jr., Jessica Donlin, Nicole Donlin and Cullen Donlin; and a great grandson, Landon Neese. He is also survived by a brother, Joseph (Diane) Donlin of Belleville, Wisc.; a sister in law, Nancy Donlin of Madison, Wisc.; three brothers in law, John (Pat) Sunseri, Nick (Shannon) Sunseri, and George Sunseri; and many nieces and nephews.
He was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother, W. Patrick Donlin.
A Michael Donlin Memorial Fund has been established.
