Justin L. "Jutt" Johanningmeier, 91, of Dubuque died Saturday, February 15, 2014 at Finley Hospital.
Funeral services will be 12 p.m., Wednesday, February 19 at the Church of the Nativity with the Rev. Scott Bullock officiating. The Nativity Parish Rosary Society will recite the rosary at 11:30 a.m., Wednesday at the Church. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery where military honors will be accorded by the Dubuque Marine Corps. League. Friends may call from 10:00 a.m. until 11:45 a.m., Wednesday at the Church. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road is in charge of the arrangements.
Justin was born on June 24, 1922 in Monona, Iowa the son of Elmer and Eleanor (Casey) Johanningmeier.
He attended Nativity grade school and graduated from Dubuque Senior High School.
Justin served our country in the United States Marine Corps. during WWII.
On February 3, 1948 he married Kathryn "Kaye" M. Koester at Sacred Heart Catholic Church.
Justin was employed at John Deere for 25 years until his retirement in June of 1984.
Surviving are his children Kris Latham, of Dubuque, Mark Johanningmeier of Kieler, WI., and Jay (Michelle) Johanningmeier, of Dubuque.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Kathryn; his parents; and his siblings, Charles, Marie Richard, Therese Jansen, Elmer "Moe", William and Owen Johanningmeier.
