Janet I. Miller, 89, of Sherrill, Iowa passed away Saturday, June 2, 2018 at Hawkeye Care Center in Dubuque. Visitation will be held Friday from 3-8 p.m. at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory 2659 JFK Rd. where a parish wake service will be held at 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday at Holy Ghost Catholic Church where a visitation will be held prior to mass from 9-10 a.m.
Janet was born February 22, 1929 the daughter of Sylvester and Ida (Fleege) Kluck. She graduated from Senior High School and went on to become a dental assistant after high school.
Janet taught swimming for the American Red Cross for 40 years. She enjoyed water skiing and was one of the founding members of the Dubuque Water Ski Club. She was also an avid snowmobiler and enjoyed camping. Janet loved sewing and upholstering old furniture as well and would sew for the neighbors and her family. Janet also volunteered for many years, she was a member of the United Methodist NOMADS for 12 years in which she worked on 51 projects. She had a passion for staying active and she was a member of several clubs which included her card, cribbage, and dominoes club, as well as her Wednesday morning coffee group, and her monthly women’s Barn group. She loved spending time with her family, she loved her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren very much.
Survivors include her children Cynthia (Stephen) Chiavaroli (Ruprecht) of Massachusetts, Eugene (Chris) Muntz Jr. of Dubuque, Andrea (Dan) Walker of Illinois, and Scott (Mickey) Muntz of Dubuque; two sisters Hazel (Pete) Strohmeyer of Dubuque, and Mildred Schroeder of Dubuque; 15 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren
She was preceded in death by her husbands Paul A. Ruprecht, Eugene C. Muntz Sr., Arthur Koch, and Clifford Miller; her son David C. Muntz; grandson Spenser C. Walker; three brothers Merlin P. Kluck, Roman Kluck, Elmer Kluck; and her sister Lorraine Stone.
The family would like to thank the staff at Hawkeye Care Center for their compassion and Care for Janet.
