Obituary

Kevin J. Jaeger, 35, of Balltown, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Sunday, December 9, 2018 at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque.
Mass of Christian burial will be 10:30 a.m., Thursday, December 13 at St. Francis of Assisi Church, Balltown, with the Rev. Noah Diehm officiating. Burial will be in St. Francis of Assisi Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m., Wednesday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road and from 9:30-10:15 a.m. Thursday at the church.
Kevin was born on October 2, 1983 in Dubuque, the son of David and Debra (Herbig) Jaeger. At birth Kevin was not expected to live very long, however, he surpassed many of his doctors expectations.
Kevin rode the bus to school since the age of two and half until he graduated. He attended Helen Keller School, Eisenhower, Jefferson and Western Dubuque.
Kevin made many friends over the years, especially as a resident of ARC and at the ARC workshop, where he worked until his journey ended.
He is survived by his parents, David and Debra Jaeger; siblings, Karen (Joe) Ryder, of Dubuque, Kris (Doug) Roebken, of Durango, and Keith (fiancé, Katie Turnmeyer) Jaeger, of Sherrill; two nieces, Courtney and Emalee Ryder; six nephews, Andrew Ryder; Brett Koehn, Tanner and Colton Roebken; Austin Pope and Mason Jaeger; two aunts, Dianne Jaeger and Donna (Gerald) Welter; and two uncles, Gary Herbig and Terry (Vickie) Herbig.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, John and Aurelia Jaeger and Donald and Marjorie Herbig; and his aunt, June Herbig.
In lieu of flowers a Kevin J. Jaeger Memorial Fund has been established.
The family wishes to thank Dr. Noble and the staff at Mercy Medical Center for their loving care, Hills and Dales for their special care during the early years in Kevin’s life, the Balltown Lions Club for sponsoring his camping trips, and most of all Area Residential Care, for their many years of care and service.
