Obituary for Morris Steve
Morris Steve, 87, of Dubuque passed away on Sunday, January 13, 2019 at Dubuque Specialty Care.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Friday, January 18 at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road, with Deacon John Stierman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m., Thursday at the funeral home.
Morris was born on July 28, 1931 in Dubuque, the son of Mike and Elsie (Burkart) Steve. He married JoAnn Mellon on June 18, 1955 at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church. She preceded him in death on April 21, 2006.
Morris started his own business, Steve Plumbing and Heating in 1968. For over 20 years he served the Dubuque area until he retired in 1991.
One of his favorite past times was picking walnuts with his friend, Lavern. He enjoyed sharing them with his customers, friends and family.
Surviving are his sons, Mike (Kim) Steve and Mark (Sue) Steve; grandchildren, Amy Steve, Tony (Alysse) Steve, and Eric Steve; 4 great- grandchildren, Emily Steve, Lily Davis, Rochelle Steve and Ashland Ostendorf, all of Dubuque; sister, Dorothy Kass, of Cedar Falls, Iowa; brother-in-law, Dave (Karen) Stillmunkes; and sister-in-law, Penny Bronk.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; 5 brothers, Russell, David, Al, Burt and Carl Steve; and two sisters, Lois Felderman and Mary Theisen.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to the Teresa Shelter.
