Obituary for Carole A Martin (Reicher)
Carole A. Martin 77, of Dubuque, died Saturday, August 25, 2018 surrounded by her loving family. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 29th at Holy Spirit Parish Holy Ghost Church with Rev. Dwayne Thoman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Rd. where a parish scripture wake will be recited at 6:30.
Carole was born on April 25, 1941 in Dyersville, Iowa, the daughter of Edward and Julie “Minnie” (Willenborg) Reicher. She married James Martin on January 25, 1958 in Lancaster, Wisconsin. Together they raised three children Ron, Jodi and Julie. He preceded her in death on May 23, 1991. Carole later met and spent 18 years with Robert Richardson. He preceded her in death on May 16, 2010. Carole was employed by Coca Cola and ESKA Companies before owning and operating Luigis Pizza. She enjoyed doing all types of crafts, cooking and listening to Willie Nelson. Carole loved the changing of the seasons with Christmas being a special time of year for her. She embraced everything from decorating to baking to listening to holiday music. Carole cherished gatherings with family, grandchildren and friends. She loved all children – no matter if she knew them or not and enjoyed the companionship of her two dogs, Maggie and Scooter.
Surviving are her children Ronald (Mary) Martin, Jodi (Denny) Arensdorf and Julie (Dan Rhine) Burke; her stepdaughter Brenda Kaiser; 10 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren; sister-in-law Rita Reicher; brother and sisters-in-law, Joe and Mary Martin and Don and Sharon Martin.
Carole was preceded in death by her parents; 2 sisters Norma VonAh and Darlene Stierman; 1 brother Wayne Reicher; infant children Cheryl and Joseph.
A Carole A. Martin memorial fund has been established.
