Obituary for Mark D Palmer

Mark D  Palmer
Mark D. Palmer, 62, of Dubuque died Tuesday, July 03, 2018 after a long battle with pancreatic cancer with his loving family at his side. A memorial service will be held at 6 pm Friday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church where visitation will be held Friday from 3 to 5:45 pm.
Mark was born August 17, 1955 in Dubuque, son of Donald and Elinor (Rubie) Palmer. He graduated from Hempstead High School in 1973 and on November 22, 1980, he married Nancy Roth at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Mark worked at Georgia Pacific, then worked as a salesman for Geisler Brothers for many years. He was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church and the Dubuque Men’s Association.
He enjoyed camping, boating and traveling on their motorcycle; but most of all, he loved being a grandpa to Brayden and Hadley.
Mark will be sadly missed by his family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Nancy Palmer of Dubuque; a son, Andy (Kayla) Palmer of Dubuque; and two grandchildren, Brayden and Hadley Palmer.
He is also survived by two brothers, Steve (Linda) and David (Lisa) Palmer; two step-brothers, Craig (Kay) and Doug (Ellen) Peters; and nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; step-mother, Retha Palmer and a brother, Thomas Palmer.
The Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Mark Palmer Memorial Fund.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Hospice of Dubuque as well as Dr. Hermann and his nurses and staff for their wonderful care.
