William J, as we called him, was my Principal at Irving Elementary. I didnt appreciate his love for his students until I was out of schhol, as I was a constant trouble maker---many times taking a finger to the chest, but I had it coming. He was a greatly admired man in the educational field as was my father who knew him very well. God's speed Bill
