Obituary for Ann C Aslin (Fisher)

Ann “Cookie” Aslin, 88, of Dubuque passed away peacefully on Tuesday, February 20, 2024.  Visitation will be from 9:15 to 10:15 a.m. Tuesday, February 27, at St. Columbkille’s Catholic Church followed by Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 a.m. Entombment will be at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.



Ann was born January 16, 1936, in Hammond, Indiana, daughter of Arnold and Helen (Crane) Fisher.

She was educated at Cathedral High School, Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Duchesne College, Omaha, Nebraska.



She married John M. “Jack” Aslin on February 2, 1957.  She was a caring and loving person and a wonderful wife, mother, and grandmother. She also had a very positive influence on many people outside of her family.



Cookie was an avid card player and was a long time member of the Mercy Service Club.



She is survived by her husband of 67 years, John M. “Jack” Aslin; her sons, John A. “Mike” (Barb) Aslin and James J. “Jim” Aslin; her grandchildren, Dr. Audra (Dr. Micah) Long, Alexa (Jordan) Banda and John V. “Vinny” Aslin and a step grandson, Thomas (Nicole) Riddle. She is also survived by seven great grandchildren, Jordan, Boss, Mario, Addison, Heidi, Charlie and Cadence.



She was preceded in death by a son, Daniel Paul “Dan” Aslin, a step-grandson, Josh Riddle, and four siblings, Roy, Jeannie, Bill and Mary.



In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Ann “Cookie” Aslin Memorial Fund.
