Obituary for Clifford Barnhart

Clifford S. Barnhart, 59, of Dubuque, Iowa, died as a result of injuries sustained in a vehicle accident on Thursday, September 15th.

Cliff was born in Guttenberg, Iowa, to Duane & Norma Barnhart, and grew up in that area.  He attended Guttenberg Community School District.  In his younger years, Cliff walked on the wild side of life and made some poor choices, but bad decisions make for great stories, and no matter what, he always came back to his family. He enjoyed being outdoors, hunting, and spending time with his loved ones.  He was a big softy for babies and animals, especially his two beloved beagles.  Cliff was very family oriented and was often found spending time with his siblings and close friends.  He loved to just randomly drive around.  It was soothing to his soul.  Cliff was always eager to help his friends and family and was frequently called upon to lend a hand.

Cliff is survived by his mother, Norma Barnhart, the love of his life, Trina McInerney, two children, Michael and Jessica Barnhart, his bonus son, Tanner McInerney, his siblings, LuAnn (Tom) Wille, Lee Allen “Butch” Barnhart, Scott Barnhart, and Jennifer (Al) Baumler, several grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews.  He shared a special “best buddy” bond with his nephew, Tommy (Marna) Horstman.  Cliff was preceded in death by his father, Duane Barnhart.
