Obituary for Deborah J. Babbe
Deborah J. Babbe, 67, of New Lenox, IL, passed away Tuesday, November 9, 2021, at home in Cascade, IA.
According to her wishes, there will be no services. Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Funeral Home and Crematory, Dubuque, IA, is entrusted with arrangements.
Deborah was born February 17, 1954 in Joliet, IL, the daughter of Earl and Eleanor (Studer) Muchitch. She graduated from Joliet East High School. On June 23, 1973, Deborah married Alan Babbe at Ingalls Park United Methodist Church. Deborah and Alan made their home in New Lenox, IL, where they lived for 32 years. She was employed at the Department of Corrections, Illinois Youth Center for 28 years.
In 2020, Deborah and Alan moved to Iowa to be closer to their son, daughter in law, and grandchildren. Deborah and Alan enjoyed traveling, especially to Florida in the winter.
Deborah is survived by her husband, Alan, of Cascade, IA; her son, Dan (Anne) Babbe of Monticello, IA; two grandchildren, Kennedy and Teigan Babbe of Monticello, IA; two sisters, Bonnie Dvorak of Essex, IL, and Laura (Tom) Donohue of Mokena, IL; her sister in law, Arlette (Richard) Carlson of New Lenox, IL; and numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her sister Tamara Lee; and her brother in law, George Dvorak.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Chelsey’s Dream Foundation, 112 Wood Ridge Rd., Anamosa, IA, 52205.
