Eileen R. Nauman, 94, of Dubuque died Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at Stonehill Care Center.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m., Tuesday, June 27, 2017 at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Road. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
Eileen was born on May 22, 1923 in Brayton, Nebraska, the daughter of Frank and Bernadette (Hall) McPoland.
She married Henry J. Nauman on June 3, 1947 at Nativity Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on October 23, 2010.
Eileen was a cafeteria cook for the Dubuque Community School District for 12 years, retiring in 1985.
She was a member of Holy Trinity Catholic Church. She belonged to Holy Trinity Rosary Society and helped with their funeral dinners. Eileen was an avid bowler and enjoyed playing euchre.
Surviving are her children, Ronald L. Nauman and Gary M. (Toni) Nauman, both of Dubuque; 5 grandchildren, Amy, Kim, Chris, Teresa, and Katie; 4 great- grandchildren, Tyler Benson, Hailey Reuter, Zach Bradford and Oliver Anderson; and 2 sisters, Virginia Schiel and Shirley (Clete) Maiers, both of Dubuque; 1 brother, Robert (JoAnn) McPoland, of Asbury, IA; brother-in-law, John Tillman, of Dubuque; and 3 step- grandchildren, Andrew “A.J.” Anderson, Danielle Barton and Emily Anderson.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; 4 sisters, Theresa, in infancy, Mary Coffin, Betty Tillman and Lois Bublitz; 4 brothers-in-law, Don Anstoetter, Bill Bublitz, John Schiel, and George Coffin.
An Eileen Nauman Memorial Fund has been established.
Special thank you to Hospice of Dubuque, the staff at Stonehill Care Center and the entire staff in the ICU at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.
