Obituary for Mary Lou Pierrie
Mary Lou Pierrie, 86, of Dubuque died Tuesday, December 4, 2018 at Luther Manor.
Memorial services will be 10:30 a.m., Friday, December 7, at St. Raphael's Cathedral, where a visitation will be held from 9:30 until the time of services. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road is in charge of the arrangements.
Mary Lou was born on January 21, 1931 in Dubuque, the daughter of Milo and Katherine "Kate" (Barrett) Pierrie.
She graduated from Immaculate Conception High School in 1949 and from St. Ambrose College as a Registered Nurse in 1952.
She worked at Medical Associates for over 40 years and retired as a nurse supervisor.
Mary Lou enjoyed golfing and bowling and participated in many leagues and tournaments. She also enjoyed bingo, crossword puzzles, playing cards with family and friends, crocheting, and knitting.
Her warm smile will be missed by all who loved her.
She is survived by her sister, Patricia "Pat" (Bill) Sweeney, of Dubuque; many nieces and nephews; and long- time best friend, Ruth McEnany.
She was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Judy (Bob) McElmeel; and special uncle, Louis Barrett.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque or St. Raphael Cathedral.
