Obituary for Steven E Mosiman
Steven E. Mosiman 75, of Dubuque, Iowa died Thursday, March 28, 2019. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, April 1, 2019 at Westminster Presbyterian Church with Pastor Loren Shellabarger officiating. Burial will be in Ebenezer Cemetery, Oregon, Illinois. Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday and from 9:30 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. Monday at the church.
Steven was born on March 11, 1944 in Trenton, Ohio the son of Christian and Gracie (Schafer) Mosiman. He graduated from Byron High School in 1962 and received his Ph.D. in Mathematics from the University of Missouri, Columbia in 1973. On June 26, 1965, Steven married Delores Blumeyer at Ebenezer Reformed Church, Oregon, Illinois. She preceded him in death on March 30, 2016. Steven taught mathematics at Loras College beginning in the fall of 1973 and retired 35 years later. In 1982 he received his master's degree in computer science from the University of Iowa. Steven joined Westminster Presbyterian Church in 1973 and was a member of the church choir, became a deacon, an elder and was very active in church activities.
He is survived by his two sons Mike (Renee) Mosiman of Mesa, AZ, David Mosiman of Dubuque, IA; grandchildren Luke and Mark Mosiman both of Mesa, AZ; sisters Cindi (Dean) Frye of Loves Park, IL and Sherry Schmidt of Rockford, IL; sister-in-law Beryl Blumeyer; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife of over 50 years Delores Mosiman and his parents Christian and Gracie Mosiman.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff of Hospice of Dubuque for their kindness and care given to Steven.
