Erma Mae Chapman, 79 of Dubuque died Sunday, April 13, 2014 at home. Visitation will be Tuesday from 4 to 7 pm at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road where funeral services will be held Noon Wednesday.
Erma was born May 10, 1934 in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of James and Ermine (Currant) Yager. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High School and worked at Aquanis Institute and Medical Associates Clinic.
She was a member of Nativity Catholic Church.
Erma was a talented artist who had a love of all living things. She enjoyed gardening, traveling and seeing new places. She was an excellent cook, was devoted to her family, and enjoyed family get togethers.
She is survived by two sons, Gene A. Chapman II and Greg M. (Pam) Chapman; and a daughter, Cheri M. (Russell) Masartis, all of Dubuuqe; six grandchildren, three step grandchildren; a brother Orville (Kay) Yager; a sister, Myrt (Jim) McDonald; and her beloved pet, St. Nick.
She is preceded in death by her parents, former spouse, three brothers, Ray, John and Ivan Yager; one son, Gary Chapman; and a special friend, Frank "Chief" Blaser.
In lieu of flowers an Erma Mae Chapman Memorial Fund has been established.
