Harold R  Otto
Harold R. Otto, 97 of Dubuque, passed away on Tuesday, April 15, 2014. Funeral Services will be 11 a.m., Saturday, April 19, 2014 at St. Peter Lutheran Church, 3200 Asbury Rd., where the family will greet friends 9 a.m. - 11 a.m., on Saturday at the church. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens.

Harold was born February 6, 1917 in Dubuque, the son of Richard and Bertha (Beyer) Otto. He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1935. Harold married his beloved wife, Iva Bastian on September 28, 1940 at St. John's Lutheran Church, she passed on January 16, 1982. He then served in the US Army for 2 years, stationed in the Philippines. Harold worked as a machine operator for 42 years at Caradco, retiring in 1981. He enjoyed the Caradco retirees luncheons throughout the year. Harold was a proud member of St. Peter Lutheran Church and was recognized for more then 25 years of volunteering at St. Peter Lutheran Church. He enjoyed conversations and visiting with people, and always welcomed visitors and talking about stories of days passed.

Survivors included a niece; Grace (Robert) Bodish of Dubuque; several great, great-great, and great-great-great, nieces and nephews.

Harold was preceded in death by his parents; beloved wife, Iva; siblings, Louisa and Bernice; a nephew, Richard; nieces, Joyce and Corrinne.

The family requests no flowers; memorials may be directed to St. Peter Lutheran Church or St. Peter Lutheran Church Foundation in Harold's memory.
