Obituary for Charles Moyer

Charles  Moyer
Charles R."Bob" Moyer, 88, of Dubuque died Wednesday, June 11, 2014 at home. Private family services will be held at a later date.
Charles was born March 31, 1926 in Toledo, Iowa, son of John and Mildred (Strong) Moyer. He served in the US Army during WW II. He worked as a construction estimator before his retirement, most recently with McDermott Excavating.
On December 8, 1956 he married Eunice Hochhausen. She preceded him in death on February 9, 1990.
He is survived by his special friend, Lucille Schmitt of Dubuque and her family; two sons, Eric (Mary) Moyer and Scott Moyer, both of Dubuque; a step daughter, Vickie (Leon) Schultz of Blaine, Minn., two step grand children, Jennifer (Jay) Bartle of Minneapolis, Minn. and Jim Vallet of Chicago, Ill., two step great grandchildren, Alexander and Henry Bartle; five brothers, Alan (Shirley) Moyer, Harold (Bev) Moyer, Frank (Marcella) Moyer, Roger Moyer all of Grinnell, Iowa, and Russell Moyer of Colorado; and three sisters, Carol (John) Gilliland of Marshalltown, Iowa, Mary (John) Schmidt of Grinnell, Iowa and Joyce Lincoln of Stuart, Iowa.
He was also preceded in death by two sisters, Arlene Pierce and her husband Harold and Maxine Oswald and her husband Keith; two brothers, Jim Moyer and his wife Mildred and John Moyer Jr. and a sister in law, Joan Moyer.
