Clara W  Moore (Rosenthal)
Clara W. Brissey Moore, 97 of Dubuque, formerly of Rock Island, passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014 at Luther Manor in Dubuque. Private Family funeral services will be conducted by Rev. Jesse Cearlock. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery, Rock Island, IL. Arrangements are entrusted to Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home & Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Rd.

Clara was born February 16, 1917 in Cook, Nebraska, the daughter of Herman and Mary (Weber) Rosenthal. She lived on a farm with her parents before marrying Everett B. Brissey on October 20, 1940. They then moved to Rock Island, ILL., Everett passed away in 1963, she later married Larry Moore and he passed away in May of 1996.

She was a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline, ILL before moving to Dubuque, where she became a member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church. She excelled at quilting, sewing and crafts

She is survived by her son, Robert (Juanita) Brissey of Dubuque; three step sons, Larry (Barbara) Moore of Lawton, Okla., Mark (Carol) Moore of Hudson, Wisc., and Mike (Laura) Moore of Maplewood, Minn.; grandchildren, Brad (Lisa) Brissey; of Dubuque, Sarah and Aaron Moore of Oklahoma, Benjamin of Wisc., and Zackery & Alexander Moore of Maplewood, Minn.; great-grandchildren, Ashlyn and Amanda Brissey; a sister, Helen Siefken of Omaha, Neb.; sister in law, Belva Jean Rosenthal of Syracuse, Neb.; and many nieces and nephews.

Clara was also preceded in death by her parents; brothers, Elmer and Chris Rosenthal; a sister in law, Frances Rosenthal; and a grandson, Robb Brissey.


The family would like to thank the nurses and staff at Luther Manor, Dr. Salas, Dr. Whalen, Pastor Kincaid and Pastor Cearlock for their professional care and comfort they gave to Clara.
