Obituary for Gertrude Ann Oberbroeckling (Winders)

Gertrude Ann Oberbroeckling, 82, 751 June Drive, formerly of 12519 N. Cascade Road died Sunday, July 13, 2014.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, July 16 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church. Burial will be in Holy Family Cemetery, Peosta. Friends may call from 3-8p.m., Tuesday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road where a wake service will be held at 3:00 p.m.
Gertrude was born on October 28, 1931 in Dubuque, the daughter of Charles and Hazel (Keatley) Winders.
She married John E. Oberbroeckling in 1953 at Nativity Church in Dubuque.
Gertrude was a wonderful homemaker and always had food prepared for her family and friends. She was a hard worker and farmed alongside her husband for over 50 years on their family farm. She was very proud of her grandchildren and enjoyed spending time with them.
Gertrude was a member of St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and a proud Leaky member of the Grand Tap.

Surviving is her husband, John “Dick”; two sons, John Oberbroeckling, of Dubuque and Karl (Coralee) Oberbroeckling, of Peosta; grandchildren, Jessica and Sarah of Dubuque, and Matt and Jesse of Peosta, and Daniel(Christine Edwards) of St. Donatus and her first great-granddaughter on the way; nephew, Ron Oberbroeckling of Dubuque and niece, Linda Puddicombe of Carolton, TX; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; grandson, Mitchell; brother, Robert Winders; sisters, Janet Ryan and Eleanor “Sis” Bennett.
Memorials may be given to St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church and Hospice of Dubuque.
