Michael P. “Mike” Kearney, 71, of Dubuque died Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at home.
Funeral services will be 10:00 a.m., Saturday, August 30, 2014 at St. Raphael’s Cathedral, with Rev. Alan Dietzenbach officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-8p.m., Friday, August 29, at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road where a wake service will begin at 3:00 p.m.
Mike was born on May 7, 1943 in Dubuque, Iowa the son of Clarence and Marie (Donahue) Kearney.
He married Darlene Neumann on June 1, 1991 at St. John’s Placid.
He was employed as a security guard at A.Y. McDonald until his retirement in 2012.
Mike greatly enjoyed watching sports, and was an avid Chicago Cubs and Bears fan.
He was a life-long member of St. Raphael’s Cathedral.
Surviving is his wife, Darlene; his children, Michelle (Ken) De Groot, David Kearney, Terrence Kearney, and Jennifer (Brian) Bass; 5 grandchildren; and brothers, Thomas (Ann) Kearney and Dennis (Kathy) Kearney.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
A Michael Kearney memorial fund has been established.
