Alice M. Boeckenstedt, 96, of Dubuque died Wednesday, August 27, 2014 at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque. Funeral Mass will be 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, September 2, 2014 at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with the Rev. Steve Rosonke officiating. Visitation will be Tuesday from 9:00 a.m. to 10:15 a.m. at the Church. Entombment will be in Mt. Calvary Mausoleum. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
Alice was born October 24, 1917 in Petersberg, Iowa, daughter of Joseph and Clara (Osterhaus) Bagge. She married Albert Boeckenstedt in 1946 in Petersberg, Iowa. He preceded her in death on February 10, 1990.
Alice worked as a sales clerk for Hartig Drug Store for 26 years. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church and Rosary Society. She was a volunteer at St. Anthony's, Project Concern and Mercy Medical Center. She enjoyed sewing, embroidering and gardening.
Alice is survived by two daughters, Judy (Jack) Blosch of Dubuque and Joyce (George) Wisker of Indianapolis, Ind.; four grandchildren, Scott (Sarah) Blosch, Nicole (Chris Cocklan) Blosch, Courtney (Steve) Roth and Brian Wisker; two great grandchildren, Lucas and Olivia Blosch; a brother, Dan (Myrna) Bagge; two sisters, Priscilla (Lavern) Morman and Mary Ellen Hoefler; and two sisters in law, Imogene Bagge and Carol Bagge.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; four sisters, Mila and Betty Bagge, Pearl Koelker and Jeanette Tauke; and two brothers, Jerome and Leon Bagge.
Memorials may be made to Mercy Medical Center or St. Anthony's Catholic Church.
