Janet A. Freiburger, 72, of Dubuque, passed away Tuesday, Sept. 9, 2014 at home. Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014 at Holy Spirit Parish, Holy Ghost Catholic Church with the Rev. Dwayne Thoman officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Visitation will be from 2:00 to 9:00 Friday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Rd.

Janet was born on June 16, 1942 in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of LeRoy and Alice (Kruse) Dalbkermeyer. On June 23, 1964, she married Ronald N. Freiburger at Sts. Peter & Paul Catholic Church, Sherrill, Iowa. Janet was a homemaker until 1983 when she and Ron established Ron Freiburger Electric, and worked alongside as an electrician with her husband. Her daughter owns a wedding decorating company and she helped out decorating on the weekends.
After her retirement, Janet worked as a sub alongside her daughter in food service at Kennedy School. She loved her family and always gave a helping hand. Her saying was a lot of hands make light work. She was always happy and content and loved entertaining and cooking for family gatherings and friends.

Surviving are her husband of 50 years, Ronald N. Freiburger; her daughter Michelle (Ron) Switzer Jr.; 2 granddaughters, Nicole (Cody) Schmitt and Tiffani Switzer and her brother, Roger (Shirley) Dalbkermeyer all of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

A Janet A. Freiburger memorial fund has been established.
