Obituary for Saverna R Stoltz (Herrig)
Saverna R. Stoltz, 93 of Luther Manor died Thursday, November 13, 2014.
Friends may call Monday from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road. Committal services will follow at Mt. Olivet Cemetery.
Saverna was born on August 22, 1921 in La Motte, Iowa the daughter of Henry and Mary (Gehler) Herrig.
She married Bertrand Stoltz on February 22, 1949. He preceded her death on July 17, 2008.
Saverna was a wonderful homemaker and was employed for 15 years at Dubuque Senior High School.
In her early years she enjoyed sewing, playing cards, watching the Cubs, gambling, ballroom and square dancing, and listening to Big Band music.
She was a member of St. Anthony’s Catholic Church and St. Ann’s circle.
Surviving are her children, Ken Stoltz, of Boscobel, Wis., Jan (Phil) Keating and Alan (Lori) Stoltz of Dubuque; grandchildren, Tony (Abigail) Keating, Rachel (Jason) Carlstrom, Quintin (Jill) Stoltz, Jesse Stoltz, and Jordan (Chris) Roundhill; great- grandchildren, Joshua, Tabitha, Noah, Tirza, Alyssa and Blake; and a sister-in-law, Charlene Herrig.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, grandson, Zachary Stoltz; and siblings, Elmer Herrig, Norma Michel, Rhinelda Brune, Florian Herrig, and Sylvan Herrig.
