Obituary for Alberta P Wisco (Witterholt)

Alberta P Wisco (Witterholt)
Alberta P. Wisco, 76, of Dubuque, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, December 2, 2014, at home in the care of her loving family after a courageous battle with cancer.
To honor the wishes of Alberta, private family services have been held at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Funeral Home.
Alberta was born on September 6, 1938 in Dubuque, daughter of Ethel (Witterholt) Gibbons and William Witterholt. She graduated from Dubuque Senior High in 1956. Alberta met her husband, Robert Wayne Wisco on December 10, 1955 and married soon after on May 2, 1956 in Dubuque.
Alberta dedicated her life to providing unconditional love to her husband, children and grandchildren. She enjoyed nothing more than to spend time with her family. Alberta was the most caring, thoughtful and magnificent woman and will be sadly missed by all that knew her. In addition to being a phenomenal care taker, she loved fishing and was an accomplished quilter. She also enjoyed collecting keepsakes, watching classic movies and loving her family endlessly.
Alberta and Wayne had seven children; Chad (Angela) Wisco, Cary Wisco, Carl (Kathy) Wisco, Cass (Lorrie) Wisco, Shannon (Julie) Wisco, Kip (Amy) Wisco and Tracy (Jeff) Leibold. Alberta was blessed with 17 loving grandchildren and 9 great-grandchildren. She was a beloved sister to William “Sonny” Witterholt, sister-in-law to JoAnn (Witterholt) Weigel, aunt to Melinda and Greg and lifelong friend of Edith Cook.
Alberta was preceded in death by her father, mother and brother.
The family would like to thank Hospice of Dubuque, specifically Amy M. and Amy C., for their wonderful care and compassion. Also, the family would like to thank Pastor Kincaid of Our Redeemer Lutheran church, for his visits with Alberta, his prayers, kind words and support.
A memorial has been established in Alberta’s name and all donations will be given to a special little girl who touched Alberta’s heart, Zahra, to aid in her own fight against cancer. Contributions can be sent to Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Funeral Home, 2659 John F. Kennedy Road.
