Bob was born January 31, 1936 in Bankston, Iowa, son of Matt and Alice (Schmitt) Wagner. He was the youngest of five children, losing his dad when he was 13.
He attended Holy Ghost School and Loras Academy. Before joining the Marine Corps in 1953, he worked at Trausch's Bakery. He served in the Marines during the Korean War from 1953 to 1955 and was honorably discharged in 1956. After the Marines he worked at Dubuque Packing Company, was a cement finisher, and Stanley Home products before starting at John Deere Dubuque Works in 1960 as a machine operator. He retired in 1994 as a CNC machine operator. After retirement, he worked part time as different jobs; school bus driver, RTA bus driver, courier for American Trust, Diamond Jo, and finally retired for good from delivering parts for Fastenal.
He married Carol Isaacs in February of 1999 and went on to enjoy his retirement 24/7 with her. In his younger years, he was very active in all summer and winter sports and after "father time" took away the sporting ability he liked to fish, do home projects, gamble of any sort and play cards.
He is a member of UAW Local 94 and a very proud member of the AA community since 1978.
He is survived by his beloved wife, Carol; three sons, Steven (Erin) Wagner of Cedar Rapids, Michael (Kelly) Wagner, and Robert (JoAnn) Eppler of Dubuque; two daughters, Julie (fiance Ellas Mihalakis) Wagner and Katie (Roger) McIntyre of Dubuque; two stepdaughters, Terri (Steve) Johnson of West Bend, Wisconsin and Ann (Tom Gent) Isaacs of Washington, Missouri; and his "adopted son" Arlando Mischeaux of St. Louis.

John Stecher of Davenport; one sister in law, Jeanette Hohmann of Dubuque; 15 grandchildren, seven step-grandchildren, one great grandson, and one step-great grandson; also my many nieces and nephews who adored their "Uncle Bobby".
