Christina A. Bauer, 56, of Farley passed away on Thursday, January 22, 2015 at home.
Funeral services will be 11:30 a.m., Monday, Jan. 26 at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Road. A visitation will be held from 2 -7 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
Christina was born on November 17, 1958 in Dubuque, the daughter of James and Sylvia (Baldwin) Splinter.
She married Robert Bauer on May 30, 1998 in Dubuque.
She was employed at Regency in Dubuque for over 20 years. After they closed she went back to school at NICC where she earned her Associates Degree. She graduated with honors, and was a member of Phi Theta Kappa and Alpha Beta Gamma.
After completing school she was employed at IBM until her diagnosis.
Chris was a very proud grandmother and never missed an opportunity to spoil her grandchildren. She recently welcomed her newest addition, Daisy.
Chris was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings, Dale Earnhardt Jr. St. Louis Cardinals and recently Detroit Tigers.
She enjoyed knitting and went to several knitting trips with her cousins.
Most of all Chris cherished her family and friends, and her “little slice of heaven” in Farley.
Surviving is her husband, Bob Bauer; children James W. (Amber) Gassman, of New Vienna, IA., Amber R. Bauer, of Dubuque; step-son, Adam (Heather) Bauer, of Peosta, IA, step- daughter, April (Scott) Smith of Lake Mills, IA.; grandchildren, Robbie, Randy, and Ricky Bauer, Aubrey Smith, Benjamin Birkett, Maggie, Quintin and Daisy Gassman; mother, Sylvia Splinter; brother, James “Jim” (Kathy “Kate” McDermott) Splinter, sisters-in-law, Donna (Mike) Dillon and Barb Wiedenbacher; and brother-in-law, Dennis “Harry” (Julie) Bauer.
She was preceded in death by her father, James Splinter; sister, Shari Vrotsos; mother-in-law, Mary Hemple and brother-in-law, Richard Bauer.

A Christina Bauer memorial fund has been established where donations will be given to pancreatic cancer research.
