Obituary for Ruth E Beecher (Smith)
Ruth E. "Peach" Beecher 87, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away on Sunday, February 1, 2015. In keeping with Ruth's wishes, she will be cremated and a celebration of her life will be held at a later date so her children and grandchildren can be present.
Ruth was born on February 3, 1927 in Dubuque, the daughter of August and Freda (Launspach) Smith. She will be remembered for her beautifully decorated cakes and great cooking.
She is survived by her four children, William (Sue) Beecher of Seirra Vista, AZ, Dennis (Becky) Beecher of St. Roberts, MO, James Beecher and Elaine (Richard) Kieffer both of Dubuque; 10 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren; a brother, Lyle (Margie) Smith and a sister, Ethel Butlett both of Dubuque.
She was preceded in death by her parents; 2 brothers, Robert and Ira (Enid) Smith; a sister, Fern and her former husband, Lawrence.
A Ruth Beecher memorial fund has been established c/o 2130 Kleine St., Dubuque, IA 52001
