Mrs. Marvin (Marilyn Jean) Leslein, 86, of Heritage Manor died Tuesday, Feb. 17, 2015.

Private funeral services will be held. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Road is in charge of the arrangements.

Marilyn was born to John and Anna (Hedrick) Kerth on October 1, 1928 in Dubuque County.

She attended Dubuque Senior High School. In the early 1940’s she began singing over the Radio on KDTH in regular scheduled programming, with the Clarence Zahina Band and Bob Gribben. She also sang every Saturday night at the Barndance held at the Melody Mill in Dubuque. Later she became a receptionist at KDTH.

She married Marvin H. Leslein on January 4, 1947 at Immanuel Church in Dubuque. Four years later she left one career to begin a new one as a fulltime homemaker and mother. She enjoyed her music, gardening, cooking, sewing and much more.

Marilyn was the best wife, mother, grandmother and sister that anyone could ask for and will be greatly missed.

Surviving is her husband, Marvin; children, Cynthia Leslein, of Dubuque, and Randall Leslein, of Rice Lake, Wis.; grandchildren, Brooke (Todd) Gassman, Peosta, IA., and Justin Leslein, Chicago, Ill.; three great- grandchildren; and sister-in-law, Bonnie (Russell) Kerth, of Dubuque.

She was preceded in death by her son, David; parents; five sisters, Doris Stackis, Ruth Kohnen, Annette Ament, Virginia Kerth, Marge White; and brothers, Russell Kerth and Robert Kerth.
