Martin L  Ruhter
Martin L. Ruhter, age 60, of Dubuque, Iowa was called home to be with the Lord on Sunday, March 29, 2015 at home following a battle with kidney cancer.
Funeral services will be 11 am., Wednesday, April 1, 2015 at St Paul Lutheran Church, 2025 Jackson St . A visitation will be on Tuesday, March 31, 2015 from 4-7 pm at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home & Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Rd . and from 10-10:45 am, Wednesday at St Paul Lutheran Church. Internment will be at Concordia Cemetery, Juniata, Nebraska at a later date.
Marty was born on April 24, 1954 in Hastings, NE to Milton & Evelyn (Karr) Ruhter.
He was baptized May 23, 1954, confirmed April 7, 1968 and attended school thru 8th grade at Christ Lutheran. He graduated from Adams Central High School in 1972 and from the University of Nebraska in 1976. He started at John Deere Dubuque on February 14, 1977 until present. He married Kim Vrotsos on May 11, 1985 and they have two sons Nicholas & Philip.
Marty was a member of St Paul Lutheran Church serving on various committees and volunteered with Junior Achievement, AYSO & Dubuque Soccer Club, Dubuque Y Swim Team, Boy Scout Troop 48, Jefferson Middle School Site Council & Hempstead Booster Club.
Marty is survived by his wife Kim, son Nicholas of San Francisco, CA, son Philip of Madison, WI, his father Milton Ruhter of Ashland, NE, his sister Marsha (Andy) Trosper of Bloomingdale, IL his brother Bryan (Heather) Ruhter of Ashland, NE, his sister-in-law Katrina (Jamie) Good of McDonough, GA, 4 nieces, 1 nephew and 1 great-nephew, Aunt Gladys (Keith) Rolls, Aunt Jan Ruhter and 4 cousins.
Marty was preceded in death by his mother, Evelyn, Aunt Phyllis, Uncle Waldo, his grandparents and a cousin.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Christ Lutheran School, 13175 W. 70th St., Juniata, NE 68955.
