Kathleen M. Gasper, 91, of Assisi Village, died Friday, April 10, 2015 at Mercy Medical Center, Dubuque.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 13 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church. Entombment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Sunday, April 12 at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road, where a wake service will begin at 3p.m.. Friends may also call from 10 to 10:45 a.m. Monday at the Church.
Kathleen was born on September 3, 1923 in Vernon County, Wisconsin the daughter of Lawrence and Martha (Stevens) Von Ruden. She graduated from Cashton High School and Vernon County Normal School.
She married William M. Gasper on March 4, 1946 in Cashton, Wisconsin. He preceded her in death on July 23, 2012.
Kathleen taught in Rural School for three years and worked as service sales manager at Sears Roebuck & Company.
She was a member of St. Columbkille Catholic Church, National Association of Retired Federal Employees and National Association of Retired Sears Employees and volunteered at Dubuque Arboretum and Botanical Gardens for many years.
Surviving are her children, Joseph (Andrea Frey) Gasper of Huntsville, AL, Mary (John) Gansen of Zwingle, IA, Lawrence Gasper of Dubuque, IA, Helen (Joseph Duklewski) Gasper of Columbia, MD, William (Margaret) Gasper of Cumming, GA, and Fred (Kathryn Ingell) Gasper, of Haslett, MI; 12 grandchildren, David Gasper, Darra Gasper, Marcia Martin, Kim Kelly, Jennifer Puetz, Kathleen Thein, Kristin Duklewski, William J. Gasper, James Gasper, Thomas Gasper, Helen Gasper, and Matthew Gasper; 13 great grandchildren; siblings Marjorie Wirth, Genevieve (Leigh) Oliver, and Dave (Cheryl) Von Ruden and sister-in-law, Linda Von Ruden.
She was also preceded in death by her parents, sister, Betty Brueggen, and brother, Kenneth Von Ruden.
