Obituary for Anne M Holmberg (Holmberg)
Anne Marie Holmberg, 83, of Stonehill Care Center and formerly of 1445 S. Grandview Ave., passed away Thursday, April 16, 2015 at Stonehill. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 p.m. Monday April 20, 2015 at St. Joseph the Worker Catholic Church with the Rev. Gabriel Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 5:00 p.m. until time of services Monday at the Church.
Miss Holmberg was born on March 4, 1932 in Dubuque, Iowa, the daughter of Charles and Anne (Cox) Holmberg. She attended St. Columbkille High School and retired in 1992 from the Archdiocese of Dubuque. Miss Holmberg was a faithful volunteer and donor at the American Red Cross and at Mercy Hospital. Because of her love for young children, she was a favorite baby sitter, caring for twin boys and their big brother. She gave loving and compassionate care to her parents in their final years.
Surviving are a brother, John (Ann) Holmberg of Louisville, KY; a sister, Virginia (Ned) Tranel of Billings, MT; her godson, Tom Burke of Dubuque, IA and fifteen nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by parents.
An Anne M. Holmberg memorial fund has been established.
