Obituary for Marvin O Becker
Marvin O. Becker 85, of Dubuque, passed away Saturday, May 2, 2015 at home surrounded by his loving family. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, May 6, 2015 at The Church of The Resurrection with Rev. Joseph Hauer officiating. Private burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3:00 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Rd.
Marvin was born on March 4, 1930 in Rushville, Indiana, the son of Orville and Dorest (Bever) Becker. He married Carol L. Spates on October 6, 1956 at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Dubuque. Marvin was a veteran of the Korean War having served with the U.S. Air Force for 3 years. He worked at Flexsteel Industries, Inc. for 40 years, retiring as Chief Financial Officer. Marvin was a charter member of Thunderhills Country Club, chairman of the board at Harvest Financial Corp. from 1983 thru 1996 and was presently on the board of directors of the First Community Trust Co.
Surviving are his wife, Carol of Dubuque; his 3 daughters, Diane Aldrich of Henderson, NV, Linda (Randy) Herman of Sheboygan Falls, WI and Karen (Greg) Kay of Prior Lake, MN; his son David (Amy) Becker of Dubuque, IA; his in-laws, Tom (Marilyn) Spates and Michael (Linda) Spates both of Dubuque, IA and Kathryn (Franklin) Langkamp of Dickeyville, WI.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque or the Church of The Resurrection.
