Thomas E  Connolly
Thomas Edward Connolly, 82, of Dubuque, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Sunday, May 3, 2015 at his home, surrounded by his loving family.
Funeral mass will be held at 10:30 a.m., Friday, May 8 at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, with Rev. Gabriel Anderson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Olivet Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m., Thursday at St. Columbkille Catholic Church, where a wake service will begin at 3:00 p.m. Friends may also call from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m., Friday, at the Church. The Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road is in charge of the arrangements.
Tom was born on September 11, 1932 in Dubuque, the son of Clarence A. and Evelyn (Bussan) Connolly. He married Rose M. Adrian on October 6, 1956 at St. Charles Catholic Church in Cassville, Wisconsin. She preceded him in death on December 21, 2008.
He graduated from St. Columbkille School, class of 1950 and attended Loras College. Tom served in the U.S Air Force during the Korean War from 1953-1957.
Tom worked in the City Assessors Office for 35 years, retiring in 1994. He also enjoyed being the principal and janitor at Raggedy Ann and Andy Preschool.
Tom and Rose enjoyed the outdoors, camping, and fishing. They loved spending time with their children, grandchildren, friends and extended family.
He is survived by his 5 children and their families, daughters, Kris A. (Steve) Rodham and Kathleen E. (David) Nicholson, both of Dubuque; sons, Timothy T. Connolly of Winona, Minn., Edward A. (Teri) Connolly of Rock Island, Ill., and Kevin J. (Amy) Connolly of North Liberty, IA; grandchildren, Abbey (Zach) Kass, Michael T. Nicholson, Molly (Mark) Wagner, Maggie (Jake) Bemis, Matthew Nicholson, Katie Connolly, Elizabeth Connolly, Ashley Rodham, Caroline Connolly, Adrian Connolly, Matthew Connolly, Annalise Connolly, and Owen Connolly; his great- grandchildren, Tristan, Brady, Chloe, Olivia, and Cooper; his sisters, Mary Virginia Murphy of Pearl River, New York and Jean (Bob) Noel of Bella Vista, Ark., his brother, John Connolly of Phoenix, Ariz.; many special nieces and nephews; and his longtime friends Mick and Velma McMahon.
He was also preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Mary Evelyn Connolly, Ruth Herber; and brother, Bud Connolly; In-laws, Joy Connolly, George Helbing, John Murphy and Herb Herber.
