Obituary for Alan B Bottoms
Alan Bottoms, 81, of Dubuque died Wednesday, June 3, 2015 at Luther Manor.
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, June 13 at GrandView United Methodist Church. A visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m., Saturday at the Church.
Alan was born on August 3, 1933 in Dubuque the son of Willard and Verda (Brown) Bottoms.
He graduated from Dubuque Senior High School in 1951 and from the University of Dubuque in 1955.
On October 6, 1956 he married Joyce Parker in Moline, Illinois.
Alan was employed at J.C. Penney from 1955-1958, at Farley and Loetscher from 1959-1961 and as office and credit manager at Flexsteel from 1962-1995.
He was a lifelong member of GrandView United Methodist Church.
Alan enjoyed traveling and reading and was a lifetime White Sox fan.
Surviving is his wife, Joyce; two sons, Jeffrey, of Dallas, TX. And Kevin Bottoms, of Dubuque; 3 grandchildren, Jacob, of California, Stephanie and Samantha, both of Texas.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and his father and mother-in-law, Dr. Elliott (Helen) Parker.

In lieu of flowers memorials may be given to Hospice of Dubuque or Luther Manor.
