Obituary for Arlene D Wilbricht

Arlene D Wilbricht
Arlene D. Wilbricht, 82, of Dubuque died unexpectedly Wednesday, July 22, 2015 at home. Her youngest granddaughter, Lia, had a sleepover with her Tuesday evening and was with her when she passed peacefully.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, July 25 at Immanuel Congregational United Church of Christ, 1795 Jackson Street, Dubuque, with Pastor Pamela Starr officiating. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m., Friday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Road and from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday at the Church.
Arlene was born on September 3, 1932 in Asbury, Iowa daughter of Edward and Vivian (Lewis) Davis. She married Alden A. Wilbricht on March 4, 1950. He preceded her in death on August 2, 2011 after celebrating 61 years of marriage. She missed him dearly and listened to his recorded music daily.
Arlene was a homemaker throughout most of her life. When her children were grown, she briefly worked for Leo Kraft Drapery. Arlene enjoyed car rides, trivia contests and sewing. Over the years, she put love into many handcrafted items for her family including an elaborate Christmas stocking for each of her grandchildren. Arlene was devoted to her family, spending countless hours supporting the various activities of her husband, children, and grandchildren. Alden and Arlene’s home became their family headquarters.
Caring for others was important to Arlene. While she was raising her family, she prepared meals for extended family members and elderly neighbors. More recently, her compassion and outgoing personality helped establish the home-like atmosphere at Cozy Corner Adult Day Services, her son and daughter-in-law’s (Bob & Mariko) business. Throughout the last 14 years, she spent many of her days there, visiting with friends while enjoying the music and other activities. She treasured her time at table number one!
She will be deeply missed by all that knew and loved her.
Surviving are her children, Janice (Bob) Smith, of Dubuque, Dave (Jenny) Wilbricht, of Bettendorf, IA., Lynn (Bob) Rusk, Renee (Dan) Furlong and Bob (Mariko) Wilbricht, all of Dubuque; grandchildren, Angie (Mike) Brown, Brad (Brooke) Wilbricht, Melissa (Jeff) DeCook, Stephanie (Ryan) Meyer,
