Condolence: Gerda and family:
My heartfelt sympathy on Wally's passing. I had hoped to get to the service this morning but unfortunately my daughter informed me last night that she needed someone to watch her infant son while she worked and my wife was gone. So this will have to do until I see you.
Wally was a great guy and I'm sure he touched a lot of people as he did me. His involvement in so many different endeavors is an inspiration, to say the least.
And, of course it goes without saying, I believe he showed excellent taste in picking a wife!

Condolence: I am very sorry to learn of Wally's passing. Sending lots of love and hugs to Gerda, Hedi and the rest of the family. The obituary was a beautiful tribute to Wally. And the picture was lovely. I loved Wally for his kindness and strong hugs. Wally was a quiet and gentle man who loved his family very much. He was so proud of Gerda and Heidi. I remember with a smile on my face, when he and Gerda were dating and would come to visit us on the farm. They loved sitting on the living room sofa, giggling and engaging in a few kisses. I was just a very young teenager and I was tickled to see my cousin so happy. Later, I was maid of honor in their wedding. I am so glad I was able to see Wally in July while back home in Iowa. I was happy to spend time with he and Gerda that afternoon for the social music time at the home. That is a memory I can hold on to at this time of great loss. I will miss you Wally......and miss your smile.
