Obituary for Eunice M Brooks (Kartman)
Eunice M. Brooks, 94, of Dubuque, died Friday, October 23, 2015 at Luther Manor. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 28, at Egelholf, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Rd. Burial will be at Dubuque Memorial Gardens. Friends may greet the family from 9:00 a.m. until the time of service at the funeral home.
Eunice was born on December 9, 1920 to Gerald L. and Lela F. (Rech) Kartman in Cassville, WI, where she was raised. She married Robert G. Brooks in Galena, IL.
In her earlier years, Eunice was employed as a waitress at Esquire and the 6120 Club, Lang Ski Boot factory, and at Bunker Hill for Jack Crane. She was last employed at A.Y. McDonald as a machine operator.
Those left to cherish her memory include her husband, Robert; children Barbara Ann Eveland of Cuba City, WI, Ronald (Judy) Brooks of Davenport, IA, Donna Lou (Joe) Jacobsmeier and Tom (Molly) Brooks, both of Dubuque; nine grandchildren; and 17 great grandchildren; and great-great grandchild; her brother Louis (Romana) Kartman of Dubuque; amd many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; son Mark Brooks in 1973; brothers Robert and Howard Kartman; a sister Irma Jean Jobe; and sons in law Dave Lamour and Jim Eveland.
In lieu of flowers, a Eunice M. Brooks Memorial Fund has been established.
