Zach S. Veach, 28, of Dubuque died Friday, November 20, 2015. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, Nov. 25 at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Road. Burial will be in Linwood Cemetery. A visitation will be held from 4-8 p.m., Tuesday and from 10-11 a.m., Wednesday at the funeral home. Zach was born on May 23, 1987, in Dubuque, IA the son of Steve and Chris (Leslein) Veach. Zach was a simple and gentle man, who had a love for all animals, especially his cat, Lona. He was compassionate for all creatures, including bugs, that he would pick up and take outside to set free. Zach also took great pride in his yard, house, and flower gardens. Some of Zach's interests and passions included military history, bowling, music, and baseball. He enjoyed all music, from Johnny Cash to Jimi Hendrix to Pink Floyd. Zach spent many summers playing baseball, most often as a catcher, and Yadi Molina was his favorite player. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan and enjoyed many trips to Busch Stadium with his family. Zach and his dad discussed many a Cardinal game. Zach was employed at Berry Plastics in Peosta. Surviving are his parents, Steve and Chris (Leslein) Veach, of Durango; sister, Emily Veach and her daughters, Adalyn and Avery, of Davenport, IA., and brother, Logan Veach, of Durango; grandmother, Ruth Leslein Kramer (Bob), of Durango; aunts and uncles, Linda Leslein, Ruth Schaumburg, Gayle (Joe) Rohn, Ron (Sheri) Leslein, and John (Peggy) Leslein; and many cousins. He was preceded in death by his grandfather and grandmother, Stanley and Katherine Veach; grandfather Lawrence Leslein; and uncles, Dale Veach, Larry Leslein and Donald Schaumburg.
