Warren G Hutchinson
Warren (Hutch) Hutchinson, 93, passed away on January 8, 2016 at Stone Hill Care Center in Dubuque, Iowa. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, January 13 at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 685 Freemont Avenue, Dubuque. Friends may greet the family from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m., Tuesday, January 12 at the Egelhof, Siegert, & Casper Westview Funeral home, 2659 John F. Kennedy Road, and from 10:00-10:40 at the Church.

Born November 17, 1922 in Lake Crystal, Minnesota, Hutch was the eighth of ten children of Benjamin Hutchinson and Ida Collins Hutchinson. Following the death of his father in 1932, the family moved to St. Claire, Minnesota where he resided through high school. After high school graduation Hutch joined the Civil Conservation Corps and was assigned to the Cass Lake, Minnesota camp. It was there that he was introduced to the John and Anna Fallgren family and where he met Lilly, the sixth of the Fallgren’s seven children. Hutch and Lilly were married December 28, 1944.

Soon after marriage Hutch was employed for many years making repairs at the Tooele, Utah Army depot and installing coal to natural gas conversions on the east coast.

In 1954 Hutch and Lilly moved to Dubuque, Iowa where Hutch found employment with Peoples Natural Gas. After ten years in Dubuque, People’s moved Hutch and his family multiple times to job assignments in Kasson, Madison, Spring Valley, Eagan, Bemidji, and Wells, Minnesota. Hutch retired in 1984 at the age of 62.

During their years in Dubuque, Hutch and Lilly joined The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (Mormon), which became an important part of their life. Hutch frequently served in church leadership positions and after retirement he and Lilly served two full-time church Family History missions together in London, England and Mission, Texas.

Hutch loved reading and always had a book near by. He had a fondness for quoting Nursery rhymes. He loved to garden, mostly vegetables, but always found room for his beautiful gladioli. Most of all he loved his family.

He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Jim, Dale, Bob, Tom, Bill, Howard, Earl, infant sister Hazel, and his beloved wife Lilly.

He is survived by his children: Linda (Bruce) Haugen, Sandra (Mike) English, Gary (Julie) Hutchinson, Laurie (Jim) Alexander, and Kim (Darrell) Norton, by his grandchildren: Christy, Kathy, Anna, Joe, Tim, Rebecca, Benjamin, Elizabeth, Rachel, Bronwyn, Emeline, Tori, Leah, Sarah, and AJ; and great grandchildren: Jonathan, Aaron, Rowan, Danielle, Adam, Wyatt, Reese, Mia, Blake, Walker, Genevieve, Jeffrey, David, and Katelyn.

A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, January 16, at Northern Peace Funeral Home in Walker, Minnesota, and he will be laid to rest beside his Lilly at nearby Lakeport Cemetery.
