Obituary for Robert H Benson
Robert H. "Bob" Benson, 65, of Dubuque, passed away Tuesday, January 19, 2016. Services will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, January 25 at Bible Baptist Church in Dubuque. Burial will be at Mount Olivet Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Sunday, January 24 from 2:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 JFK Rd, Dubuque.
Bob was born on October 3, 1950 in Illinois, son of Robert and Audrey (Christiansan) Benson. He married Laura Fournier on August 5, 1990 in Dubuque.
Bob was a jack of all trades – from making stained glass windows to playing the piano and keyboard. He loved to travel and his goal was to make it to all 50 states. He was a fun, loving man who enjoyed a good roller coaster ride.
Above all, Bob was a great and kind husband, father, and grandfather. He will be missed by many.
Survivors include his wife, Laura; children Christopher (Shawna) Benson, Andrew Benson, Jennifer Levato, Edward Rau, Benjamin Rau, Brittany (Derik) Jackson, Blade Benson, Kyrie Benson, and Vincent Benson; 15 grandchildren; and siblings Kristine (Jerry) Guerra, Bill (Sandy) Benson, Kim (Domer) Kilgore, Raymond (Jean) Benson, Wally Benson, Heather Benson, and Brian Benson.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter Alexandra Benson; and a brother Bruce Benson.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to the family.
