Obituary for Terry McPoland
Terry T. McPoland, 27, of Dubuque died Saturday, April 9, 2016. A memorial service will be held 7 pm Saturday at Blades Chapel, University of Dubuque where friends may call Saturday from 2 pm until time of service. There will be a celebration of life held at a later date.
Terry was born April 22, 1988 in Ft. Rucker, Alabama, son of Patrick McPoland and Victoria Allendorf.
Terry loved spending time with his dogs Harley and Jax. He loved his father tremendously. He liked to sing loud and drive fast. He liked tattoos and selfies. He loved motorcycles, the outdoors and snowboarding. He was a BMX state champion. He liked making people laugh and pulling practical jokes. He had a heart of gold and wanted to help people. His last selfless act was running into a burning building to evacuate the residents. He was the baby of the family.
He is survived by his mother, Vicki (Todd Kershner) Allendorf of Dubuque; brother, Taylor (fiancée Jamie Murphy) and their children, Adriana Murphy, Gage McPoland and Jax McPoland, all of Dubuque; brother Connor Kramer; daughter, Peyton Salter of Dyersville; grandparents, Terry Allendorf of Dubuque, Connie Allendorf of Galena, Ill., and Jack and Betty McPoland of Epworth; aunts and uncles, Wende (Steve) Yonda of East Dubuque, Dean Allendorf of Alpharetta, Georgia., Mark (Jodie) McPoland of Epworth, Lori (Gary) Milledge of Dubuque and Jody (Doug) Warden of Dubuque; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Patrick McPoland; brother Zachary McPoland; and great grandparents and great aunts and uncles.
The Egelhof, Siegert &Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory is in charge of arrangements.
