Judith A  Schmitt (Bleile)
Judith Ann Schmitt, 70, passed away on Friday, April 15, 2016 surrounded by her loving family.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at the Church of the Nativity. Burial will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m., Tuesday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Road where a wake service will begin at 7:00 p.m.
Judy was born on February 18, 1946 in Dubuque, the daughter of Alfred and Lucille (Mesch) Bleile.
She married Gary P. Schmitt on May 10, 1962 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church; he preceded her in death on December 3, 2009.
She was employed at Hy-Vee for many years.
Judy enjoyed playing bingo, going to the casino and bowling. She was an avid Iowa Hawkeye and the Dallas Cowboys fan.
Judy treasured her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren and never missed a birthday or sporting event. Whether it was going on family trips to Las Vegas or cooking her famous turkey and dressing sandwiches at family gatherings, time spent with loved ones was cherished.
Surviving are her children, Jamie (Daryl) Kramer of Dubuque, Nancy (Rich) Tingley, of Davenport, IA., Gary (Theresa) Schmitt, of Dubuque, Camie (special friend, Bob Helle) Pedersen of Dyersville, IA., and Stacy (Ken) Zimmerman of Peosta, IA.; 12 grandchildren; 13 great- grandchildren; 2 brothers, Lyle (Mickey) Bleile, of Rockford, IL., Kenneth (Margaret) Bleile, of Belvidere, IL.; 5 sisters, Donna Clark of Rapid City, SD., Elizabeth Daly of Clinton, IA., Lois (Roger) Hess, and Sandra Wagar, both of Dubuque, and Rita (Rick) Patters of East Dubuque, IL; and brothers and sisters-in-law, Richard (Patricia) Schmitt, of Dubuque, Kathy (Gary) Sisler, of Stanton, MI., Jayne Reynolds of Albia, IA., Marc (Dee) Schmitt of Glendale, AZ., and June (Pat) Hancock, of Dubuque.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; an infant brother, Lester Bleile; 1 great grandson, Landon; and her father-in-law, George Schmitt.
