Obituary for Dorothy D Wick (Dieterich)
Dorothy D. Wick, 94, of Dubuque died Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center.
Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, September 17 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church. Burial will be in Dubuque Memorial Gardens. A visitation will be held from 5-7 p.m., Friday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 John F. Kennedy Road and from 9:45 – 10: 15 a.m., Saturday at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
Dorothy was born on June 5, 1922 in Dubuque, the daughter of Arnold and Gertrude (Arendt) Dieterich.
Only July 14, 1945 she married Warrington Wick at St. Matthew Lutheran Church, Dubuque.
Dorothy taught home economics to junior high students at Washington Junior High for over 39 years. She enjoyed cooking, entertaining, golfing, playing cards and being with her family.
Surviving are her three children, Kim (Michael) Fischer of San Antonio, Texas and their children, Joshua (Maggie) and Sarah; David Wick of Edina, Minnesota, and his son, Daniel; and Robert (Brenda) Wick of Stillwater, Minnesota, and their children, Elizabeth (Mark) Kauppi and Jordan; one great- grandchild on the way; and her close cousin, Arline Dieterich.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Warrington; and her brother, Roger.
