Robert H. “Bob” Mueller, 59, of Sherrill, died Friday, October 07, 2016 at Mercy Medical Center. Visitation will be from 2 to 8 pm Monday at the Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home and Crematory, 2659 Kennedy Road. Funeral services will be 10 a.m. Tuesday at Sherrill United Church of Christ where there will also be a visitation Tuesday from 8:45 to 9:45 a.m. Burial will be in the Sherrill United Church of Christ Cemetery.
Bob was born June 21, 1957 in Dubuque, son of Paul and Marie (Leslein) Mueller. On March 31, 1990 he married the love of his life Cynthia “Cindy” Voss at Westminster Presbyterian Church. He graduated from Dubuque Hempstead in 1975 and received his Bachelor of Music Education degree from University of Dubuque in 1980.
Upon graduating from University of Dubuque, Bob taught vocal music for one year at Lake Mills, Iowa. He then pursued his favorite career, dairy farming with his Dad in Sherrill, Iowa. He was the featured Bass/Baritone vocal soloist with the Dubuque Chorale on many occasions, including “The Creation” and “Elijah”. He also soloed with the Dubuque Symphony Orchestra and sang for numerous weddings and funerals. Bob was a gifted euphonium player and played in many brass ensembles. In his later years, he worked at Kephart’s Music as an instrument repair technician.
He was a lifelong member of the Sherrill United Church of Christ where he held many officer positions. He headed many projects for the church and was a member of the Sherrill Cemetery Association.
Bob is survived by his wife, Cynthia Mueller; a son, Gregory (Brittany Galle) Mueller of Dubuque; a daughter, Gretchen (Jordan) Tucker of Sherrill; a granddaughter, Bridget Theresa Tucker; a grandson, Carl Paul Tucker; three sisters, Donna Krogman of Mesa, Ariz., Mary Lou (Phil) McCleary of Barron, Wisc., and Jeanne (Ronnie) Spoerl of Sherrill; a brother, Roger (Beth) Mueller of Manchester, Iowa; three nephews, Chris (Jannell Wadlow) Krogman of Arvada, Colo., J.J. McCleary of Carmel, Ind., and Philip (Christine) Mueller of Grapevine, Texas; two nieces, Annie McCleary of Robbinsdale, MN, and Teri Mueller of Manchester, Iowa; a grand nephew, Cameron Robert Krogman; an aunt, Ruth (Robert) Kramer of Durango, Iowa; an uncle, David Spoerl of Sherrill, Iowa; and many cousins.
He was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother, and numerous aunts and uncles.
