Doris M. Sauer, 88, of Dubuque died Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Luther Manor. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10 a.m. Friday at St. Raphael Cathedral where visitation will be held Friday from 9 a.m. until time of service. Entombment will be in Mt. Calvary Cemetery mausoleum.
Doris was born July 30, 1929 in Dubuque, Iowa, daughter of William and Madeline (Manders) Rowe. She was a graduate of Dubuque Senior High. On July 10, 1954, she married William G. Sauer at St. Colubmkille’s Catholic Church. He preceded her in death on August 12, 2005.
She was member of St. Raphael Cathedral.
She is survived by a daughter, Cynthia (Steven) Redmond of Dubuque; a son, Steven (Mary Lynn) Sauer of Eagan, Minn.; and three granddaughters, Jennifer Sauer, Lauren Sauer and Rachel (Nicholas) Ruff and a great grandson, Jason William Ruff.
She was also preceded in death by her parents; a sister, Mary Jane McCarthy; a brother, George Rowe; and a great grandson, William Ruff.
The Egelhof, Siegert and Casper Westview Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to all the wonderful staff at Luther Manor for their outstanding care and compassion shown to Doris over the past 5+ years. Also, a special thanks to Scott with Hospice of Dubuque for his care and assistance during her last days.
