Condolences

Condolence From: Jon Gilloon
Condolence: The second of three FitzGerald women rarely placed second when it came to will and determination. There simply wasn't a chance to outdo her. She followed my Mom, Shirley Ann to New Rochelle College, quickly became President of her Class, and made Iowa a known state out East. Five wonderful children later, she juggled all personalities and ambitions of husband, Dr. James O'Brien, and siblings masterfully, maintaining close ties to friends in Dubuque and abroad simultaneously. It was this unwavering attention to excellence that set her apart, always finding the best and most interesting roads to travel.
She always gave the right advice based on an uncanny vision and her love for neighbors and family. She was a sterling example of a generation that has almost past, and one which we can truly say we have been blessed through their uncompromising lives.
Pat was a great person, one which cannot be replaced, unique and blessed.
My high regard for the O'Brien cousins proves she was a perfect role model for us all.
May she rest in peace.
