Selma E. Massey, 96, of Dubuque died Monday, January 04, 2016 at Stonehill Care Center. Visitation will be from 4 to 8 Friday at the Egelhof, Siegert & Casper Westview Funeral Home, 2659 Kennedy Road. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Paul Lutheran Church, where visitation will also be held Saturday from 9:45 to 10: 45 a.m. Burial will be in St. John’s Lutheran Cemetery.
Selma was born May 1, 1919 in Dubuque County, daughter of August and Bertha (Winkelmann) Pautz. She graduated from Zwingle High School.
Selma was a lifelong member of St. Paul Lutheran Church, where she was baptized, confirmed, and in 1937, where she married Blair Massey. He preceded her in death in 1999.
Selma was an avid gardener, an exceptional pie maker and she found great joy spending time with her family.
She is survived by a son, Ken (Madonna) Massey of Elk Grove Village, Ill., a daughter in law, Barbara Massey of Waunakee, Wis., six grandchildren, Jefree, Heidi, Bradley, Susan, Barbara, and Amy; and nine great grandchildren.
She was also preceded in death by a son, Donald Massey and a sister, Marie Kane.
