Dick and I and 2 other guys drove to Florida in a VW Beetle for a little vacation in the early 60's. Got to know just what a great guy Dick was and would surely have remained close had I not left Dubuque for California. When my mother died some years ago, I was so happy that Dick showed up at the wake. He was a really fine person and I'm sure his family and friends will miss him greatly.
